After you decide on the terms of the trade, you and your trading partner will need to select a code word for the transaction. This is how we match up what you send us with what your partner sends us, and it’s the key to keeping your personally identifiable information private.
Make up something that will be unique, so don’t just use the name of the card. Letters and numbers are OK; for example, Baneslayer553 and PokemonTrade78745 are both good code words. Don’t pick something that can be easily guessed, and don’t re-use code words.
If possible, keep your code word secret. If you’re discussing the trade in a public forum post, use a private message (PM) or direct message (DM) to decide on a code word. (If your trading forum doesn’t allow private messages, that’s OK, but to prevent other people from using your code word to interfere with your trade, be sure to send us a description of your trade so we can ensure that you’re getting what you bargained for.)
Write the code word in the Attn: line in our address, like this:
Attn: Baneslayer553 [« put your codeword here]
Trading Card Escrow
2907 S Byron St
Seattle, WA 98144
Make sure you write down the code word on a sheet of paper inside the envelope as well; we recommend using our trade information sheet or our Premium Express Kit if possible.
The code word is the ONLY way we can match your item(s) with your trading partner’s. Please refer to your code word whenever you contact us.
